Hannah Arterian is Dean and Professor of Law at Syracuse University College of Law. Dean Arterian received her bachelor’s degree in English, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Elmira College and her J.D. degree, with high distinction, from the University of Iowa. Dean Arterian was associated with the New York law firm of Dewey, Ballantine, Bushby, Palmer & Wood where she practiced corporate tax law. Before joining the faculty at Syracuse, Dean Arterian taught at Arizona State, the University of Houston and the University of Iowa law schools. She served as associate dean at Arizona State for ten years. Dean Arterian is a member of the Board of Directors for Access Group. She currently writes and comments about legal education and the academy.
Tim Balfour is the vice president sales & school services and is a 14-year staff member at Access Group, Inc. He oversees the internal and external account executive teams in providing service to our school customers and delivering borrower education. Tim earned his B.S. from Kansas State University. In his spare time he enjoys serving as host and head gardener at his bed and breakfast in southern Oregon.
Vivian G. Bowden is Access Group’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Her responsibilities include overseeing all Access Group market-facing initiatives including marketing, communications, school services and sales. Vivian just celebrated her 15th year with Access Group and her favorite part of her job is meeting with school administrators and students. Being in the field with customers motivates her to work harder and continuously improve. She received a B.A. in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a J.D. from Widener University School of Law. When not at work, Vivian is at home having fun developing her garden.
Dan Burr is the assistant dean for student financial planning at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. He earned his B.A. from Carroll College in Helena, Montana and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Notre Dame. Dan is the esteemed Conference Chair for the 2009 Access Group Graduate and Professional Financial Aid Conference – Exploring the New World of Financial Aid. Thanks Dan!
Jeffrey Hanson, Ph.D. is director of borrower education services for Access Group. He is responsible for developing programming and all associated materials that can be used to educate students/borrowers on the fundamentals of education loans, money management, personal finance and debt management. Jeff also writes on various topics including how students and their families can finance higher education. He earned a B.S. from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. He also has a M.S., M.A., and Ph.D. from Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. Jeff’s a sucker for a Broadway show and loves musical theatre.
Sue Ledwell is the director of client development at Access Group. In this role, she manages the Need Access application service and provides services to schools related to financial literacy and professional development. She holds a B.S. in Education and an M.S. in Counseling Services from the University of Pennsylvania. Sue has been in higher education for 30 years; 14 of which are at Access Group and the other 16 were at the University of Pennsylvania.
Richard A. Matasar is the 15th dean of New York Law School. He joined the faculty and began his tenure as dean on July 1, 2000. A nationally recognized scholar in civil procedure and federal jurisdiction, Dean Matasar also has spent many years thinking about law schools as institutions and how to use education to add value to society. During his tenure he has energized the New York Law School community with innovative curricular and administrative changes, creating a new experience for students. He holds both a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Dean Matasar is the Chairman of Access Group’s Board of Directors.
Lori Moore, account executive, supports schools in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. She joined Access Group in June 2003, following more than ten years in the in financial aid industry. One of Lori’s favorite job responsibilities is working on and presenting Financial Literacy presentations to students.
Beverly Pigford is a graphic designer at Access Group. She’s responsible for all the conference related signs, brochures, tote bags, and a lot more. Beverly has been in the printing & graphic design field for well over 20 years, honing her skills and talent at the Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography and the University of the Arts. You’ll notice Bev … she’s the one with the camera around her neck documenting the conference. Be sure to look for her photographic work here on the All Access blog’s photo album.
Libby Rosenberg is new to the Access Group team. She joined the Marketing Department as social media & interactive marketing senior manager in late August. Libby earned a B.A. from Ashland University in Ashland, OH and a M.S. from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. This is Libby’s first Access Group conference, so stop by and meet her in the resource center where she’ll be blogging throughout the conference.
Sheryl Reinschmidt is an account executive for Access Group. Her territory is the greater Los Angeles area, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Sheryl holds a B.A. in psychology from Occidental College and a M.S. in education with a specialization in enrollment management from Capella University. She enjoys playing softball and spending time with her standard poodle Cozmo!
Cynthia A. Sibley, CMP, is the director of corporate meetings and travel for Access Group. She has managed conferences and events in almost every state in the US, in Canada, Europe, Asia and on cruises throughout the Caribbean. Cynthia earned her B.A. from Ithaca College and is also a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). This year marks the 20th consecutive Access Group Conference she has planned. (phew!) Cynthia brags that she is probably one of the few people around who can spell “Hors d’oeuvres” without looking it up, and is best known for the speed at which she can remove her hand-held radio from her belt!
Kim Siwarski, regional sales director, joined Access Group in 2000. As part of the Sales and School Services team at Access Group, Kim manages the sales team that supports schools in the northeast part of the country. Prior to coming to Access Group, Kim was an Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania where she earned her B.S.
Jennifer Trauman is an account executive for Access Group. In her current role, Jennifer serves schools throughout New York State, providing not only information on Access Group’s loan programs and services, but also in-person presentations to staff and students on a variety of customized financial aid and debt management topics. Jennifer earned her B.A. from Indiana University and holds an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from New York University.
